Overview

A clinically trusted combination therapy system — bringing precision electrotherapy and ultrasound under one roof at every SVPC branch.

The Chattanooga Intelect® Mobile 2 Combo is a professional-grade, two-channel electrotherapy, ultrasound therapy, and combination treatment system — from one of the world's most respected names in physiotherapy technology. Lightweight and ergonomically designed with an integrated carry handle, it is used by our physiotherapists across all SVPC clinics to deliver targeted, evidence-based treatment for a broad range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

Featuring a full-colour 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen, built-in clinical protocol suggestions, and an anatomical guidance library, every session with this machine is precise, personalised, and effective — whether you're recovering from a sports injury, managing chronic pain, or rehabilitating after surgery.

How It Is Used at SVPC

Personalised, evidence-based treatment by our trained physiotherapists

At SVPC, the Intelect Mobile 2 Combo is a core part of our physiotherapy toolkit — available at every branch, including Chengalpattu. Our physiotherapists use it to design individualised treatment plans that combine the right modalities for each patient's specific condition, stage of recovery, and pain profile.

Assessment & Protocol Design

Our physiotherapist assesses your condition, pain severity, and treatment history. Using the machine's built-in Suggested Protocol Settings and anatomical guide, they select the optimal combination of electrotherapy and ultrasound parameters for you.

Electrode Placement & Ultrasound Preparation

Electrodes are positioned around the treatment area using the anatomical guidelines displayed on the device's touchscreen. For ultrasound, a coupling gel is applied and the applicator head is placed on the target region. Real-time coupling detection confirms contact continuously throughout the session.

Therapy Delivery

Depending on your condition, ultrasound and electrotherapy may run simultaneously (combo mode) or separately. You'll typically feel a gentle warmth from ultrasound and mild tingling or light muscle twitching from electrical stimulation. Sessions are comfortable, non-invasive, and usually last 10–20 minutes.

Monitoring & Fine-Tuning

Throughout the session, our physiotherapist monitors your response and adjusts intensity, frequency, and duty cycle as needed. The touchscreen displays real-time progress and generates a session summary at the end.

Progressive Care Across Sessions

The machine's data storage lets our therapists track every session, ensuring each visit builds on the last for consistent, progressive results.

Therapy Modes Available

Each modality is clinically validated and targets a specific aspect of pain relief and rehabilitation

Interferential Therapy (IFT)

Uses medium-frequency currents that interfere within the tissue to produce a low-frequency therapeutic effect deep in the body. Best for deep pain relief, reducing swelling, and improving local blood circulation. Available in both 2-pole (premodulated) and 4-pole (traditional) configurations.

TENS

Delivers controlled electrical pulses to interrupt pain signals at the nerve level and stimulate the release of natural pain-relieving endorphins. Available as Asymmetric Biphasic TENS and Symmetric Biphasic TENS — allowing the therapist to fine-tune the response for each patient.

VMS / NMES — Muscle Stimulation

Electrically stimulates motor nerves to produce controlled muscle contractions. Used for muscle re-education after injury or surgery, preventing atrophy in immobilised patients, and improving range of motion and local circulation.

High Volt Pulsed Current (HVPC)

High-voltage, short-duration pulses that penetrate deeply with minimal discomfort. Particularly effective for oedema reduction, wound healing support, and pain management in acute sports injuries and post-surgical cases.

Therapeutic Ultrasound (1 MHz & 3 MHz)

1 MHz penetrates deeply into muscles and joints; 3 MHz targets superficial structures like tendons and ligaments. Promotes cellular tissue repair, reduces inflammation, and relieves pain from muscle spasm, joint contracture, tendinitis, and soft tissue injuries.

Combination Therapy (Combo Mode)

The defining feature of this unit — ultrasound and electrotherapy delivered simultaneously. Studies show combo therapy can be more effective than either modality alone by addressing both the mechanical and neurological dimensions of pain and healing at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions

In combination therapy, ultrasound and electrotherapy (such as IFT or TENS) are delivered together in a single session — often simultaneously. This addresses both the mechanical (tissue-level) and neurological (pain signal) dimensions of a condition at once, which research shows can produce better outcomes than using either modality alone.

No. The electrotherapy produces a gentle tingling or mild muscle twitch sensation, while the ultrasound creates a slight warmth in the treatment area. Both sensations are well tolerated by patients of all ages.

This depends on your condition and its severity. Most plans involve 6 to 15 sessions, each lasting 10–20 minutes. Our physiotherapist will assess and recommend the appropriate frequency and duration at your first visit.

Yes. The Intelect Mobile 2 Combo is available at all SVPC clinics, including our Chengalpattu branch at Sree Renga Pain & Rehab Centre.

Patients with musculoskeletal pain, soft tissue injuries, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation needs, nerve pain, and chronic conditions like tendinitis or osteoarthritis are typically good candidates. Our physiotherapist will confirm suitability at your assessment.

Absolutely. The Intelect Mobile 2 Combo is often used alongside manual therapy, exercise programmes, and our other advanced systems like the Salus Talent Pro or SPINE-MT CORE, depending on your condition.
